1 Corinthians 2:14

This scripture is my focus tonight and God is always teaching me something new as I read the word. There are a ton of nay-sayers around you, but take heed. There are those who believe God is real (sometimes that isn't even true) but who think Jesus is somehow NOT a part of the Trinity or that the Trinity is not real! Some of them may read this and wonder what I’m talking about. Jesus is our bridge to God and the Holy Spirit guides us with that still small voice that we hear!

These people I describe today are your best friends, your neighbors, your church buddy, your cute boyfriend or girlfriend that you met at church, your inner circle, et cetera. But, make no mistake - the devil is busy and knows that you may not know that: the natural man who is a non-believer can't understand or receive spiritual truths because he doesn’t have spiritual discernment without the Holy Ghost!! Of course a non-believer thinks that the things you believe are irrational or non-sense.

The thing is – this spoke to me because I have been struggling with many people around me in church and out of church who simply do not understand how God works because they really can’t! They question my favor, faith and confidence – they compare me and anyone else’s talent to others *but why though??) – they mock or play popularity games – they don’t actually love others or put themselves second to a stranger (it’s a foreign concept) – they don’t share in genuine ways and they gossip untruths and rumors from their tongue - but will confess to be a Christian. To be Christian is to embody many of the things they decline to. Honestly – I don’t have all the answers and I won’t condemn anyone. But, what I do know is that I know and understand what I’m seeing and all the while I know we can’t have all the answers EVER on this earth. But what we can have is faith and spiritual discernment. We can read our Bible (the inspiration from God) and live out our lives in love as HE commands. AND we can pray for those people in our lives that I speak of.

The next person whom you sit next to, converse with or spend time with – figure out if they mean well or have discernment before you let them guide you and your decisions! Pray for them and for you! Then, learn to live out your best life – but do so in obedience to his word. I keep hearing – we’re meant to be limitless or free or happy. If this was infinitely true – we wouldn’t have boundaries, laws or requirements that are around us. Can you be a doctor just because you want to? No – you need advanced schooling and practice. Can you be a lawyer without learning the law? Dare I say not, you need advance schooling and practice. So, can you be a Christian just because you said you are without declaring who God is, studying his word and putting it into practice?
